A GCSE qualification in French will considerably broaden the scope of job opportunities and can be combined successfully with many other subjects at A Level and at University.

The study and experience of French will also increase your skill set for life – it develops skills in clear communication, problem-solving, considering ideas from another culture’s point of view, translation, active and fine listening skills and the ability to think quickly. In addition, it enhances your knowledge of English and will boost your literacy skills.

You can further develop your French language skills by studying French at A-Level here at the Sixth Form at Dyffryn Taf.

There are then opportunities to study the subject at University which could then present career opportunities in professions such as: Teaching, translating, interpreting, business services, community services, finance, tourism, public administration, education, sporting careers, journalism, accountancy, hospitality industry, sales and marketing, law, medicine, acting, TV and radio presenting, manufacturing, diplomatic services, police force, European Union, government and many more.
