Sixth Form
An introduction to the Sixth Form at Dyffryn Taf
Our Sixth Form mission is to empower, educate, and inspire young minds through a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, following our school vision “Gallwn, gofalwn”, “We can, we care”. We strive to foster academic excellence, personal growth, and a lifelong passion for learning, “I Fyny For Nod”, “Reach For The Highest”, by providing a supportive and engaging community. Our dedicated team of educators is committed to promoting intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity, while instilling a sense of responsibility, resilience, and respect, creating healthy and ethically informed students.
Together, we aim to develop students who are ambitious and capable learners ready for higher education, who have creative and confident minds ready to embark on employment and apprenticeships.
In the Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13), students can choose from a range of A-Level and vocational BTEC courses, completed alongside the Welsh Baccalaureate (WBQ) qualification. There is no fixed pathway for students - rather, we seek to provide a bespoke package of study for each student which reflects his, her or their needs, their achievement before the Sixth Form and their hopes and ambitions for the future.
